Friends of Coaches vs. Cancer:

As a public health organization, the American Cancer Society is committed to the well-being of all communities – especially cancer patients and caregivers who are central to our mission.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic - and following the lead of the University of Notre Dame - we have made the difficult decision to pivot our Night of the Stars event. This was not an easy decision to make. We will not be hosting a large-scale, in-person event on the court like last year, but we can still make a difference in other ways. Instead, our intention is still to celebrate our beloved Honorees digitally across our communications and social media channels throughout the coming weeks.

We still have so much to celebrate!  Our three Honorees deserve celebrating and our sponsors warrant recognition for their generous support, so we are counting on YOU to help. Cancer doesn’t quit… and neither will the American Cancer Society.  Here is how you can help:

  • New Golf Flight – Golf is still on! For the first time in 20 years, we will be hosting a second flight at our Coaches vs. Cancer Golf Classic on Tuesday, August 3 at Blackthorn Golf Club. This event has sold out for the past decade, so this is now your opportunity to get in on the best charity golf tournament in the region! To get more information about the tournament and register for your foursome visit: www.ndgolfclassic.org.

  • Online Auction – Each year, our online auction continues to impress with the caliber of its exclusive, high-end items and experiences. We intend to bring you another exciting online auction, but we need your help. If you wish to donate to our auction by underwriting a specific item, please contact Jessica McCrea.  Watch your email and our social media channels for an auction preview very soon!

  • Mission Giving – For a second year in a row, our mission fundraising dollars will be restricted to fund additional research projects at Harper Cancer Research Institute. Please consider donating to our mission knowing that your dollars will be used to support local lifesaving research programs occurring on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. To make a gift, visit www.cvccelebrationofhope.org  and click “Make a Donation.”

Your continued support in 2020 is the cornerstone of our efforts to fund our life-saving mission.  Thank you for your support during such uncertain times!
